Fire is one of the most serious threats on board an aircraft. Rapid recognition and response is vital when responding to an aircraft fire.

Participants will learn about fire theory, including the different types of fires, equipment available to fight fires, how to use equipment correctly, and how to assess situations effectively. You will also gain extensive hands-on practical training and familiarisation in fire-fighting and smoke protection techniques and the use of fire-fighting and smoke protection equipment found on board most private, business and commercial aircraft. Crew roles and responsibilities and the importance of effective communication during fire-fighting will be demonstrated and discussed. A review of recent aviation fire and smoke incidents will be conducted.

Fire and smoke training is conducted in a full motion business jet simulator and a state-of-the-art Next Generation Real Fire Fighting Trainer (RFFT), the V9000 Commander XR, which is ideal for providing training in all possible fire-fighting and cabin smoke scenarios in a realistic environment. It is fully equipped to deliver comprehensive fire and smoke training, lithium-ion battery and other cabin fires. Combined with the latest in Virtual Reality (VR) technology, this is as real as it gets.

The Gulfstream GV, G450/500/550/650 cabin smoke evacuation procedure will be demonstrated if required.

Training and equipment adheres to GCAA regulatory standards, including EASA and FAA.
